Shakespeare in the Park

We spent an evening in the amphitheater at Lantern Bay Park experiencing Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It was billed as 'a sprawling tale of mischief, love and a shipwreck, with a few follies and – a Prohibition flair.' The Dana Point Theater Company presented four performances with free admission for a donation of a canned-food item for Second Harvest Food Bank. We got some culture and helped the community. This is the fifth year of Dana Point Theater Company's "Shakespeare in the Park" productions. Lantern Bay Park, overlooks Dana Point Harbor and the Pacific Ocean – a serendipitous setting for the "Twelfth Night" story.

When the children were in elementary school they each participated in Shakespearean plays. I can't remember which class did Twelfth Night, but it is one of the more familiar plays. We also had the opportunity to take Girl Scout troop trips each summer to Cedar City for the annual summer Shakespeare Festivals. We had so much fun with those trips that we did some family & friend visits as well. Lots of good memories with the Bard!

i did twelfth night! i can't believe my performance as sir Toby belch didn't help trigger the memory.. i am very hurt.. but thats okay. i understand how years of ammeter Shakespeare performances with four different kids can all get confused into one blur. you are forgiven.
