Graduates Galore

I have the greatest pictures of our two recent graduates. Keileigh began at West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah and finished her prep school years at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point, CA. It was a tough two and a half years after the move but she endured and finished and we're grateful she made it work. She selected DHHS because of their academic strengths, their excellence in running (the boys are #2 in the nation in cross country this year) and because there was a cute surfer boy in the parking lot when we researched high school options for our move to California. She made many acquaintances over the course of her time here, and carefully selected those friends who made her happy in the long run. Thanks to those who made California-Keileigh a stronger, better individual.

Noelle graduated from Utah State University in May with a bachelor's in Pre-Physical Therapy. She worked hard and smart; she took full course loads each semester and attended a study abroad in Switzerland last summer. She worked as a Resident Assistant for two years and received free housing, as well as working in the computer lab on campus. (Thanks Sage for the hook up!) Motivated by love she finished her degree in three years. In June Noelle and Drew Wojciechowski were sealed for time and all eternity at the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The newlyweds are now living happily ever after in The Village - married student housing at the University of Utah. Drew has one semester of college under his belt and new motivation to work hard and graduate ASAP.

Baby's Gone to College!

The nest is officially empty. Keileigh has packed up and moved out and is going to college at Utah State University. Wow! After graduating from Dana Hills High School in June she boxed everything up and then she took off on several weeks of vacation and work including Hawaii, Bear Lake, Salt Lake City and Jackson, Wyoming. When the time came, Christy transported everything from California up to Logan Utah. Keileigh, Luke, Maebe and I had crazy fun times visiting grocery stores and getting all of the essentials for the coeds to survive on their own. (Luke just rented an apartment in downtown Salt Lake City near the University of Utah where he is going to school.) Keileigh is living in Davis Hall and is loving the college scene so far. She is a pro at fixing nutritious meals, keeping her apartment clean, making friends and getting the most out of her opportunities. Let's hope the sunshine and smiles last all year!

HELP! California style

Heard about a concert sponsored by the City of San Clemente. We couldn't pass up an evening of Beatles music on the beach at sunset. It was all that could be expected and more!

We Got Culture!

Another nice feature of having creative people in the family is that we take trips to interesting cultural centers. This month we visited the Getty Museum in LA. Besides the amazing gardens and galleries they also had a special exhibit entitled Women of Art & Science, featuring the works of Maria Sibylla Merian & Daughters. This was a favorite spot for Rachel, our own woman of art & science!

Adventure Abounds When Turks Come To Town!

Lots of fun when the family
comes to visit. We try to do something new each trip and this time it was a visit to Crystal Cove. The Historic District was created about the time we moved here three years ago. There are cottages you can rent that date back to the 1920's & '30s. There is an ambiance here that is really special. It's worth the price to park and walk just to check it out.

And of course there's the Shake Shack to visit when you're done!

Summer Fun

So many good times! Danica & Jaclyn Kremer, nieces from Utah came to play in California for a few days. We had a great drive down - they loved taking pictures of all the scenery between Salt Lake & Dana Point! We had four days of fun in the sand (I've had enough sun to last for a while) and even saw enough dolphins to make it all real and worthwhile. These are awesome young ladies!

On The Road

It's been a while since I last posted anything. Let's just say I've been living and saving the writing for another day. Last week Rachel, Sage & Maebe came to play in SoCal. This week I'm here in Utah. I've got tons of pictures & videos that I'll post when I get back home; that is after I drop Keileigh off in Logan and then return to California with two cute nieces for some beach time fun & games. I can hardly wait to share!
